The short version: if a trip does not fill by its deadline, it is
cancelled and every person who paid gets every rupee back, automatically.
Nobody has to ask.
How picnic works, in one line. An organiser books a trip for a group.
Each person pays their own share through their own link. The trip is only
confirmed once the full amount is collected.
When you get a full refund
The group did not pay the full amount before the deadline. The booking
is cancelled and everyone who paid is refunded in full,
automatically. This is the case this whole product is built around.
picnic cancels the trip for any reason - weather, safety, or a supplier
we could not replace. Full refund to everyone who paid.
More money was collected than the trip costs. The surplus goes back to
the person who overpaid, automatically. It is not kept, and it is not
spread across the group.
There is no individual refund. Once you have paid your share, your
money comes back only if the whole booking is cancelled. You cannot
withdraw from a trip on your own and take your share out of it.
This is stated on the payment page before you pay, not only here. The
reason is simple: the group is buying one trip together. If people could
leave one at a time, the last person left would carry the whole cost.
The deadline
Every booking has one deadline, fixed the moment it is created:
seven days from booking, or 72 hours before departure -
whichever comes first. It is shown on the payment page and in every
reminder, and it does not move.
If that calculation leaves less than 24 hours, picnic does not create the
booking at all. There is no point starting a collection that cannot
realistically finish.
When a supplier lets us down
If a hut, coaster or caterer cancels after your trip is confirmed, our
first action is to replace them with another supplier at no extra
cost to you. The trip goes ahead, and you are told what changed.
If we cannot replace them, the trip is cancelled and everyone is refunded
in full. You are never asked to pay the difference for a problem on our
side of the arrangement.
If you cancel
An organiser can cancel their booking while it is still collecting.
Everyone who has paid is refunded in full.
Once a trip is confirmed, picnic has already committed your money to
suppliers - the hut is held, the coaster is booked, the food is ordered.
A cancellation after that point is not automatic and is not guaranteed.
Contact us and we will tell you honestly what can be recovered, and why.
We will not promise more than the suppliers will actually return.
How the money reaches you
A refund is always returned by the same method it was paid with, to the
same account it came from. We cannot send it somewhere else, and we will
never ask you for your account details, an OTP or a PIN in order to
process one. Anyone who does is not picnic.
Raast: usually within 2 working days.
Mobile wallet: usually 5 to 7 working days.
Card: usually 5 to 7 working days, then your bank's own posting time.
These are the times our payment provider gives us, not promises we control.
Once the refund has left us it is with your bank or wallet provider. The
reference number for it is on your booking page, and we will give it to
you if you need to ask them.
What you do not have to do
No form. Automatic refunds are sent without you asking.
No fee. picnic deducts nothing from a refund. You get the full amount you paid.
No account. You do not need to register with picnic to be refunded.
No chasing. You get a message when the refund is sent.
Something has not arrived?
Check your booking page first - it shows every payment and every refund
with its reference. If it says the refund was sent more than the times above
and it has not reached you, contact us
with your booking number and we will chase it with the provider ourselves.
Prices on picnic are in Pakistani Rupees and include SST at
15%. A refund returns the full amount
you paid, tax included.
